This is my absolute favorite route to ride on a beautiful summertime day. It starts up near Tufts university and winds its way up through Bostonβs northern suburbs, curving around Reading, Andover, Boxford, and more, then coming down into Salem.
Highlights include:
- Riding by the Mystic Lakes and Lake Quannapowitt in Wakefield
- Rolling through the paved road in Harold Parker State Forest in Andover
- Going through Bradley Palmer State Park with an optional stop at the splash pad to cool down
- Lobster rolls at the Lobster Shanty and beers at Notch in Salem
- Taking the MBTA Commuter Rail or Ferry Home
